Description

“Call your beagle hound and go rabbit hunting.”  So begins the recipe for Hassell’s Creek Wild Rabbit.  If you want to know How to Barbeque a Whole Hog, you must first “find a pig that is willing and invite him for a big feast.”  These along with the “read only” recipe for Hassell’s Moonshine are a sampling of the type of recipes that will keep you reading, laughing and unable to put the book down until the final page.

Inspired by Texan, Ronny Hassell, compiled and edited in Tennessee, it is a book of treasured recipes from the East Coast  to the West  with a little bit of Cajun thrown in for good measure.

More than a cookbook, it is also a book of history, genealogy , tall tales , scenic pictures, old pictures and  letters from the past. From Letters to Anie,( 2-17-1897)  “Well, Dasie, I want you to come home.  I think you have stayed long enough.  For the Lord’s sake don’t stay down there and wear out my shimmy.”

Not limited to kinfolks or a particular region, this is a book that has something of interest for everyone who enjoys a good read.

About the Authors:
