 Description
An inspirational novel of Jamie Cobb’s journey from the heart of his mysterious father’s international drug smuggling ring to the deep valleys of despair with society’s misfits, including time well spent in maximum security correctional institutions.
For those of us who have never traveled the paths of the stealthy and profit-making moguls, here is a book that finally shows the glory, the anguish—and the lesson.
No One Knows the Son presents the drive of modern man in his quest to reach higher material plateaus, and given the opportunity, how life’s excesses and one’s inner being collide to result in the inevitable failure; how temptation for all that is just beyond one’s rightful reach can bring a greedy man to his knees. But No One Knows the Son goes further still. This book rips through the mold of the rise and fall and then the end. It goes beyond the sad end, and into the new beginning, filled with hope and promise of a genuine and solidly built future.

REVIEWS:

The secret son of one of Scotland’s most notorious criminals has told how his dad led him into a life of crime…Now, he’s penned his life story, No One Knows the Son. Cobb, now of Lafayette, Louisiana, gets letters from his dad, who was freed in 2002, but he’s not seen him since he left Spain

Jack Mathieson, Daily Record, United Kingdom

October 3, 2006

Based on true events, No One Knows the Son by newcomer James Cobb, crackles with prose that will leave you awed. It is hard to believe this troubled story of a son and his father is Cobb’s first book. Pick it up and you won’t put it down.

Gene Williams, Times of Acadiana, Louisiana

… No One Knows the Son was simply one of the best thrillers I have read in a very long time. All readers… will be unable to put it down. The book is a compelling thriller while beautifully written, with parts that make your pulse race and others that make you cry…

Jacklyn Sonnier Hirshberg

Author, Nicky the Swamp Dog

[No One Knows the Son is]told with a novelist’s eye, with a poet’s attention to detail. A marvelous first book.

Harry Delahoussaye, Ph.D., Professor of English

Universityof Louisiana at Lafayette

[No One Knows the Son] is without a doubt, one of the most entertaining, yet also educational books that I have read…definitely one of the most engaging books…The use of Southern dialect and slang makes you feel that you are there in the book…There is also the sense in the book that there is always light at the end of the tunnel…I feel grateful and just better off as a person for reading this book.

 About the Author:
In October, 2000, James Cobb left federal prison, just barely twenty-eight years old, already a seasoned drug dealer, yet a man redeemed for his sins. Born an artist, he was raised by his aunt and uncle as one of their own. At the age of thirteen, he learned the shocking truth about his biological parentage. The tragic results of this well-meant secret and the lightening speed chain of events that followed provided Mr. Cobb with the wealth of material that constitutes his first book, No One Knows the Son. As a writer, Cobb’s dream is to educate youth and folks of all ages against the pitfalls of drug usage and all other forces of darkness; to help people see clearly that they have a choice, that they have power over sin by accepting Jesus Christ into their hearts. In addition to his accomplishments as a writer, James is a gifted artist. He attributes his gifts, as well as any successes in life to his true surrender to faith in Jesus Christ. He currently lives with his beloved wife and three children in Lafayette, Louisiana where he spends much of his free time as a motivational speaker, helping to reform troubled youths in detention centers and schools by showing them the impact of their everyday decisions. A portion of the sales of this book go to troubled youth programs.
