 Description
Every week the castle drew Savannah like magic.

She longed to have it.

Over the centuries the castle drew others, too. No one until now could see the truth or had the strength of heart to act. Making an unselfish choice is hard, especially for a little girl. Savannah has to decide between having what is her heart's desire, or doing the right thing for someone she doesn't even know.

Learning the secret of the castle pushes Savannah in a difficult direction. Is the secret real or just a story? Should she listen to her heart or her mind?

Written for children in kindergarten through third grade, 'Savannah's Castle' tells the story of a courageous little girl and her moral choice. Set in the modern world, this children’s fantasy is a new look at an old problem.

 About the Author:
Books have always been an important part of her life. During a difficult childhood they became friends, where she used her imagination to build a world without problems. Writing was something she discovered she liked to do, and came easily to her, when she went back to college. She once wrote a three thousand word term paper while sitting in a traffic jam. After she began to write, she discovered she preferred children’s literature. “Deep down inside I’ve never gotten older than twelve, where anything can happen and all things are possible.” Martha Hite lives in the mountains of Western Maryland with her husband, Walter and their son Sean. She likes to grow African violets, play bingo, and she’s hooked on several video games that she plays daily. “Minesweeper is the only thing that kept me sane when Sean went away to college.” She is a nurse at the University of Maryland Hospital in Baltimore, where she specializes in patients who have had strokes. She is a voracious reader and an equally prolific writer. She has finished three novels and several short stories that she hopes to publish soon. As a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators and a regular attendee at their conferences, this and her other critique group has helped her to hone her writing skills.
