About the Author:
Albert Spalding Benoist was bornin Monmouth Beach, New Jersey,and still makes his home there with his wife, Joan. His father was a world-class musician and Albert traveled with his father and mother in his early life. After graduating from high school, heattended Columbia College and received his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1940. Soon after, WorldWar II intervened and he was drafted into the Infantry, then to the Signal Corps and finally ASTP atHarvard. He returned to Columbia and received his degree in Architecture in 1948. He worked with New York architects to gather experience and taught at Pratt Institute, then formed a successful architectural/engineering firm innorthern New Jersey. After forty years of practice, he merged with alocal firm and finally retired. He was now free to pursue other interests among which included painting, illustrating and writing, as well as involvement with an orchestra, ballet and opera companies. He is also actively involved with organizations in his hometown. Because of this varied background and interest in technology he has become a futurist which has formed the base for his present writings.
